Big Tree Animal Sanctuary and Adoption Centre Limited
「大樹下」的故事是始於十多年前的西灣河。當年，西灣河的一個工地養了頭狗看守工地，但是當工程竣工後，狗兒卻被遺棄了，只得流浪街頭。「大樹下」的創辦人不忍狗兒被遺棄，於是便收養了牠，牠就成為了「大樹下」的首位「住客」。
為了更有效地向公眾推廣愛護動物的訊息，並更有組織地照顧流浪狗，「大樹下」終於在2012年正式成立，取名為「大樹下善待動物庇護站(錦田)有限公司」，並註冊成為慈善團體。
「大樹下」這個名字的意思就是「大樹下，好遮陰」，希望為受盡風吹雨打的流浪狗提供一棵大樹，給牠一個「遮陰」。
「大樹下」的成立宗旨是:
為被遺棄的動物提供一個庇護所;
拯救和照顧被遺棄的動物;
組織舉辦活動向公眾推廣愛護動物的訊息;
教育公眾有關人道及動物權益等知識;
於政府各部門、愛護動物組織及公眾聯繫促進獸醫服務，如動物疫苗注射等服務。
